3-Day SAP ABAP Data Workshop | HANA

Our SAP ABAP Data Overview Workshop provides a three day introduction to the SAP technical landscape, with a particular focus on how data is modelled and accessed across HANA based and non-HANA SAP environments.
The workshop gives participants a practical understanding of the key technologies and concepts behind SAP data, including AS ABAP, SAP BTP, HANA data models, CDS Views, RFCs, BAPIs and IDocs.
What does the workshop cover?
SAP & ABAP Foundations
The workshop begins with an introduction to SAP and the technical concepts that underpin SAP data and development.
Participants will explore:
- What is SAP?
- SAP navigation
- Key ABAP concepts
- What is AS ABAP?
- The role of the ABAP application server
- Introduction to SAP BTP
This provides the foundation needed to understand how SAP applications, systems and data interact.
HANA-Based Databases
Day two focuses on data within HANA based SAP environments and how modern SAP systems structure and access data.
Topics include:
- SAP HANA overview
- HANA-based data models
- Understanding SAP data structures
- Introduction to Core Data Services (CDS)
- CDS Views
- How CDS supports data access in modern SAP environments
Non-HANA Databases
The final day looks at traditional approaches to accessing and exchanging SAP data in non-HANA environments.
Topics include:
- Non-HANA data models
- Understanding traditional SAP data structures
- Remote Function Calls (RFC)
- Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs)
- IDocs
- Data exchange between SAP and external systems
